After a long year away my 5 year old son asked for a turtle. Well instead of the turtle the family agreed to get salty again!

Came across Jman selling his 265. After a long debate with the wife I decided to bite the bullet!

her only rule was that she wanted the stand white to Mach the rest of the living room. So white it is.

This past weekend me and a couple friends made the drive to pick it up!
Here’s to the start!
This weeks project is to get the stand sanded and ready for paint!

Took a extra coat but glad I put it on. Came out better than I expected!
Still have to sand and paint the canopy.

next step it to clean the tank and sump with a nice vinegar bath then I will get the tank on the stand and begin to plumb!

Return pump came in today. Decided to go with a Reef Octopus Varios 8 pump. The cor 20 and M1 was just not enough GPH!

I will let the stand dry overnight and get it moved into the house tommorow!

How did you clean the overflows?
I sprayed vinegar on them let it sit and took a microfiber cloth and scrubbed them. The inside sprayed vinegar and used a hose on the jet setting and it came off also took a broom handle and taped a microfiber cloth to get the bottom glass inside the overflow so the bulkheads seal well!

It does at first then you get to start enjoying it unless you are like me and enjoy the build
