Its a great grower for me, nearly indestructible and one of the few acros that look better as a frag than a colony.
I've been struggling with this tank ever since August. I finally decided to do a blackout and added a temporary 36w UV to know some of the cyano/dinos back.
3 days and it seems to have worked however I lost a few acros in the process. I've also removed the sand and added a small refugium.

Well, its been a couple months, lets see some updates of this amazing system! Now I am going to have to order another tank.
Money pit never ends. I’ve set up a second lowboy frag tank for sps. This one will be lps. I was having trouble keeping things happy in a mixed reef frag system.
I’ve also gotten into the strange bubble mushroom phase which…I don’t know man

The first lowboy was from our group buy at @Creation Reef & Aquatics in Woodstock years ago. The second one was from Rit at @atlantaaquarium.

I am trying to put together a 50g low boy too. I have a question that maybe you can help with. The tank was pre drilled on one of the long sides and came with an external overflow. What I was wondering is when I pipe up my return should I put it all on one end (short side) or should I maybe send some to each short end to make the water rotate?
I can relate. My first love was zoas and pally's which are still my favorites. Now I am on a euphyllia kick. I love torches and branching hammers. I keep buying them and the more I buy the madder my wife gets lol. Now I am starting to eyeball mushrooms. At first all I had was some orange yumas and some blue discosoma. Then I discovered OG bounce, Sunkist bounce, ricordea, and on and on. Now in addition to building a zoa garden and a torch garden I am planning my mushroom garden. I’m not super good with overflow designs, etc but I don’t think it matters where you put the return as you will have supplemental powerheads.
But probably get a second opinion

Amazing pictures. Do you have to use filters on the lense to get them?
Yes any orange filter kit will do. Also the lowboy is only ~10” deep which helps immensely
Tank is looking good. I love the squammy over from the big tank and he seems happier that he isn’t being constantly thrown around by the regal lol
