Started this project a couple of weeks ago. We just pipped the filtration system and added the lights. Next will box in the plumbing and start on the walls. We added the bio solution and now cycling the tank. Next weekend time to add some fish!! Here are pics from start to where I am now on the project.

Yes pure luck at best. I just saw it in my doctor's office and came home and told my wife I want to out a tank in the wall. She was like ok, let's do it but how do you plan on doing. My reply, dont know, but will give it my best Nike effort and JUST DO IT!!! LOL

The thing about being a reefer that no one tells you when you start... is that you have to learn the skills of a plumber, biologist, chemist, electrician, and carpenter. Then... only other reefers really appreciate the final product and the things in the box. When friends come over they just tend to say "ok cool look it's nemo, but this one is kinda ugly colored..." and then they say something about the colors of some corals and really like your frogspawn instead of your crazy expensive sticks or zoas. They have no idea... the time/effort/cost/blood it takes to get there :).

So... from one reefer to another... very very nice job :). I'm impressed! Can't wait to see it filled with corals/fish :) Thanks for sharing with us.

That is totally true, they all just say can't wait to see the final project or they get to naming all kind of fish to put in there that don't swim in the same community. lol

This looks awesome. Great job on the in wall and going 180 to start. You skipped about 2-3 tank upgrades. ;)

Great job, did you build the actual tank on your dining room table?, if so BRAVO, and if so is there any eurobracing or bracing across middle to prevent warping or whatnot, never had an acrylic tank.
Your wife is awesome, if I started building a tank in the dining room...well most of us know how that would go..
Congrats again on a great job so far, best of luck.
