Joey (King of DIY on YouTube) posted that in 2023 he is dropping his speaking fee (just requests travel accomodations) to speak at local fish clubs.

Not sure if that is something you guys are interested in but he's one of, if not the biggest, Aquarium fish hobbyist on YouTube with 1.4m subscribers.

Attached a screenshot of his post. If that is someone you'd like to invite to one of the ARC events, reach out to him. Just passing this along.

That's pretty incredible! I have some personal problems with Joey, but it would no doubt be a wonderful gift and boost of promotion for the club.

he left his partner and two teen children on their own, kicked them out of his house, and ran off with some young chick without batting an eye. I understand that he agreed to an 'open relationship', but it still seems shady to leave your kids behind. He still sees them, but there's no way he can dedicate the same amount of love and affection to them anymore. As a younger person myself, I can't imagine the pain I'd go through if my dad just kinda gave up on me and ran off with someone barely older than me, you know?
Forgive me for getting heated, it was just a shocking thing to hear about. I've watched his channel for a very long time, so it was maybe an extra shock when I learned.
 
Personal BS aside, I catch his YT sometimes. Hes never seemed like he gives saltwater more than a glancing thought, and Ive never seen him do coral. Not sure why a reef club would bother with a freshwater specialist.

He's had reef tanks on his channel before.

While polarizing, his DIY videos that launched his channel were inspirations to a ton of hobbyist.

I used a few for my own setups. Shrug.
