Using Matrix and de-nitrate

Was wondering if it would be possible to use both Matrix and de-nitrate in my refugium instead of just have a deep sand bed. water will flow through the media before it enters the return chamber. Can I use it that way?

Absolutely! Both the Matrix and De*nitrate can be used in that manner, as long as water is able to flow over the media. I would recommend using our Stability in conjunction in order to seed the media with beneficial bacteria. You can also use Stability as part of your regular maintenance such as during water changes, when adding new fish or if you ever have to medicate. It never hurts to boost your biological filter!

To be honest, it does not matter how you place the media in your refugium. You can even mix them together if you prefer.
