Phosguard Safe For Reef Aquaria

I love and use your products folks, but is theer an validity to this comment:

During another club's reekeeping discussing om phosphate removal, it was stated that Phosguard is not safe for reef aquaria due to its aluminum content. I plan to call/write Seachem today. I have been using it Phosguard for over 2 years without any apparent ill-effects (as recommeded by several sponsors). Any opinions on this?

When used as directed, the Phosguard is safe for reef aquaria. We use the Phosguard in all of the reef tanks here at Seachem. It will not release anything back into the aquarium, even when exhausted. The only time you may see irritation with corals, is if you put the Phosguard in a reactor with high flow through it. This can cause the beads to rub against one another, creating a fine dust, which can escape into the aquarium. However, we do not recommend using the Phosguard in this manner, unless you can turn the reactor down to minimal flow.
