Breaking my rule of 'no online' while on vacation, but I couldn't help but rub it in :D:D:D

REALLY digging Belize. Looked at some property yesterday too. LOL This could get dangerous.

Wandering the island (Caye Caulker) yesterday afternoon when the fishermen came back in. Bought some dinner off a couple guys. 9 lobster tails & 3 Conch's the size of softballs. $25! :wow2:

Have an awesome time! See if there is any information on homesteading in Belize. That seems like my kind of place ;)

It's very easy & liberal. Many many ex-pats here. For me, I'd probably do a 3-6 month stint at a time. Ran into a few people that do that.

Definitely say I like this better than Puerto Rico where we lived for 3 years.

We are on one of the smaller islands though. Caye Caulker. About 1.5m long & 1/2m wide. No cars, just bikes & golf carts for the crazy-lazy (like me) (but we are also at the Southern tip of the island, away from civilization)
 
Belize is where John Mcafee lived. A little heads up - it's a beautiful area but their drug problem is as bad as mexico's. I've heard some pretty scary stories about it. You might think twice before buying real estate!

Check out the stone crabs too. There should be someone catching them. We paid $5 a pound in the Bahamas, for the monster claws (size of my hand) that were $80 in Florida restaurants ;)

Hint:
The 'fresh' cooked claw meat doesn't stick to the shell. That happens after freezing.

I'm jealous. I haven't done any snorkeling or scuba since Hawaii in June. Would love to see some pics if you had a underwater camera.
