Hack to get light bracket over a rim??

Upgrading from a cube into a 75 gallon. The bracket on the light from our old tank doesn’t fit over the rim on the new. We don’t want to hang lights. There’s got to be a hack around this? We are considering cutting the rim but would love to learn about any other options prior to doing that. I contacted the company and they don’t have a bigger bracket.

I ordered a universal light mount for my freshwater tank. It had a bigger bracket, although I didn't need it since I have a rimless. Not sure if this mount will work for you. But might be worth a look.

Try putting an acrylic spacer here...just drill holes where the screws are

I was about to suggest the same thing... Larger screws may be needed depending on the thickness of the acrylic.
