Euphyllia Question

I have a new hulk torch that I placed about 2-3 inches away from one of my other torches. I am not sure what species the other one is but I can post a picture when I get home. Everything was fine for a week or so then yesterday I notice the head closest to the other torch has been injured. I moved the injured hulk torch to my frag tank to recover, but I am confused as to why the other torch attacked it.

My understanding was most euphyllia get along okay with each other. I suppose sometimes that is not the case though. I also have a RBTA that was within say 3-4 inches of the hulk torch. I was wondering if they harm corals or not. If so, he just hates the hulk in particular because the RBTA is sitting right next to the other torch and has been for a long time with no issues.

I was really hoping to have a big part of my aquascape covered in torches, but now I am wondering if that will be possible.

Does anyone have any thoughts or words of advice?
 
In most cases corals of the euphyllia family are getting along just fine but sometimes they don't. Just like humans, we just can't like everyone. It's hit or miss.
 
Well i have to disagree. I got over 30 different torches and im constantly moving them. Almost every torch has been next to each other. Torches do not harm one another. So torches are a coral that a head can die 2 weeks later the colony dies for no reason. Ive had up to 300 heads in a previous build. All crammed together and were fine. I do suggest getting kung fo coral torch dip. I f your gonna keep torches
 
I dont reccomed a anenome next to anything they kill everything. Its a hish possibility the anenome stung torch

Little easier to read.

Container: 4 gallon tub
Equipment: heater and small sponge filter of some sort

Recipe:
  1. 500mg Amoxicillin
  2. 500mg Ciprofloxacin
  3. 10 leveled scoops of Chemiclean
  4. 40 drops - Brightwell Lugol’s Solution
  5. 4 Capful - Brightwell Restor (the 500ml bottle's cap size)
Duration of dip: 2-6 hours
NOTE: We have dip corals for as long as 48 hours as a test and there were no negative effect Euphyllia we dipped.

Instructions:
  1. Add the dry med (amoxicillin, Cipro, chemiclean)
  2. Add 4 gal of tank water
  3. Set heater to 74 deg.
  4. Let the mixture run with the sponge filter or any intank filter for like 10 mins. This is to help collect detritus and to add flow to the dip.
  5. Add Lugol
  6. Add Restor
  7. Pre-wash the corals in a diluted hydrogen peroxide wash. See: https://kungfucorals.com/blogs/news/pre-wash-and-post-wash-with-hydrogen-peroxide
  8. After the dip, do a post-wash with diluted hydrogen peroxide again before returning into the tank.

I tried to get my dogs vet to do it for me and she would not give me a script. I said it was for fish/corals and she laughed at me lol.
 
I used the KFC dip method recently and it worked great. I put all the corals I got from the Carolina Reef Experience in it and let them sit a few hours. Corals are looking good and no signs of any hitchhikers.

Just when I get them, or if they start looking bad. I dose Cipro monthly for 7 days to keep on top of everything.

500mg to 50ml rodi dosed at 3mil per 50 gallons daily for 7 days.
 
Most of u know ive had over 500 torches in my big tank. And i never dip unless stressed. Dont feel when u buy a torch u have to dip

Scott keeps telling me to dose Cipro. I dont like dosing anything. But with the money i got in my tank i might have to listen to the OLD man. lol
