Christmas Tree Worm Rock

They will pop up from time to time. They are not common because most people can not care for them.

The worms are filter feeders and need to be fed, while the coral they are in (porities sp?) usually needs a good amount of light and low nutrients to grow. So you have opposing ends of the care spectrum in one. This is why the coral is always brown when you see them.

Ive had them and kept them alive but I dont recommend you try it unless you have an SPS tank that you feed heavily. For reference mine was the only one I have ever seen where the coral was green not brown.

Interesting. Thanks for the information. Good to know. I guess I will try it when I get a larger tank. Thanks again.
