Update on the Electronic Dimmables. The price right now is $250 per unit. If we reach 20 total units the price will be $235. The upgrade with this new version was the addition of individual fuses for each LED. This helps to ensure that if a problem arises, only one LED would be affected instead of the entire fixture.

Here are a couple of additional pictures.

This is a deal folks. We just need a few more to get them for the $235.00 Even if you do not have a Apex or Reef keeper, they still work. You can also buy a kit for $30.00 to make them dimmable here it is. http://www.rapidled.com/diy-2-color-dimming-kit/

The only way we are going to get them cheaper is post here. So lets get them. They are very nice LEDs. I paid for my 4 and CEB125 paid for his 4 tonight. So 8 paid for.

There is some par numbers, I do not know who it was. For some reason people are quiet about these lights unless you ask in a PM. But I have had nothing but good responses. Rich get us some PAR numbers.

Get your order into Rich. We have 13 right now. Only 8 more to get them for 235.00 each. That is a deal. Remember these will work with or with out a controller. And you do have to pay for them before we order. So PM Rich and get them orders placed. I think the cut off will be next Friday. After that they will be $275.00 for them.

Each unit has its own fuse. Man they are nice!!.

PurpleGORILLA came over with his PAR meter and we tested mine at one point. It wasnt a dimmable version or anything, but the PAR I remember:

Just below surface: ~900
6" Below: ~600
12" Below: ~250
Sand: ~150

I will see what I can do about getting some par numbers in addition to what Crewdawg posted.

Also, as Bruce said above, I am going to set the cut off for order and payment for next Friday 13th (oh that is a bad day). LOL All orders and pay-pals must be to me by Noon. I really would like to know how many we will be going with before than so we can give people firm pricing before that time. I agree with Bruce, this is a great deal and everyone I have talked to that has these fixtures loves them.

Ok, we have one more maybe. It that happens it would put us at 14 units. 6 more to go and we can get them for $235.

This is a heck of a deal on these. Get in while the getting is good. Never before seen lowest prices. As I said before even if you do not have a Apex or Reefkeeper they will work just like the non-dimmable ones. Down the road you may buy a controller. Buy a Reefkeeper Lite for $109.00 and a ALC for $69.00 and hook them up and have a heck of a LED light system. Dawn to Dusk and all in-between.

Edit: Rich check to see what the warranty is I think, 3 years. (It could be 2) but either way fixed right here in Atlanta!

Rich find out what the watts are on each LED. And are they Cool white or neutral whites? Can they be changed? I posted this on R.C. and some are asking all the details.

OK, here is some additional info:

The entire fixture draws 130 watts.
It has two drivers at 65 watts each.
It is driving the LEDs at 2.3 watts per LED.
Although they are 3 watt LEDs, driving them at 2.3 watts is the sweet spot (gives the most light output for the least power consumption.)
The whites are what they call a Natural White which is not a warm white or a cool whit. It is in the neighborhood of 7000 degrees Kelvin. It is the same color spectrum as the Radium Metal Halide.
The warranty is a 2 year parts warranty. They will ship replacement parts to you free but labor to replace the parts would not be covered.

Chang in plans. If we close the group buy on Friday at noon, they fixtures wouldn't be ordered until Monday anyway so we are going to extend it to Monday 4-15 at noon. Maybe some of you will get paid on that day and be able to join in. :-) We need a few more to jump on board here. This is a great price for a good fixture. If you are making a jump to LED now would be the time to do it.

Time is running out if you want to join in. The deadline for orders and payment is Monday at noon.

I have a a couple of questions which could tip me. I'm potentially interested in 2 units.

Can you control color mixture or is it fixed?
Any additional shipping charges/etc or are these flat prices?
When would delivery be?

Thanks,

-Jeff

The units come set up with a few blues, all of the whites and the three UV on one switch and the remaining blues on the other switch. Each switch is dimmable separate from the other.
Okay, so it seems that the color mixture is 'somewhat' controllable which is good. That question is answered. Still waiting on the other 2
