Ok so a few weeks ago tang had ich now he's not showing any signs of sickness but now my clown looks like he has it. I've used metro and focus daily and ran out tonight but i need something a little more aggressive this stuff doesn't seem to be doing it should i set up a quarantine tank and move over so i can treat with non reef safe meds or would that cause more stress ? Need advice to cure my little buddies

I used Dr' Gs medicated fish food a couple of months ago when my Chevron Tang came down with it. That combined with a cleaner shrimp and all is well today...
I also had a flame wrasse with bubble eye and Dr G's took care of that as well. There are a couple of different ones depending on illness. Worked fior me..... |

Does it look like salt grains on the fish, or more of a white slime?
If it's the former, it could be ich. If it's the latter, it is more likely Brooklynella. Different treatments depending on what it is. If it's Brooklynella, you may not have a lot of time. I've seen fish live with Brook for a while but it can kill in hours sometimes. Jenn

Hey Jenn, thanks for responding. The tang originally had grains, of salt looking white spots on him. As I started treatment they went from bad to very good looking in a mater of a few days and came and went repeatedly for 2 weeks until I ran out of medicine.
All the other fish seemed fine during this point however i understand the Ich could be givin to other tank mates. Well the larger of my 2 clowns started looking not so hot about the time I started this thread however his is looking more like the slime coat you describe it seems to be all over her head and lighter on the side of the body she has had a pimple looking spot on her chin the past 2 months but I just figured it was just a bump nothing to worry about. |

that sucks bro. I mean I think its not really slimy slimy. It is borderline powdery looking but not like ich looks it at times look slimy but its hard to tell with lighting it may just be reflection from led's lol these things are so shimmery.

Just to update on my lil sick clown he has seemed to make a full recovery from the medication at least to the point of showing no signs of infection I will leave the fish in the quarintine tank for the next 3 weeks aand continue treatment to be on the safe side.
