Few questions
I just wanted to say hello to all I am new to the Forum ( few mths) and Joined at the Frag meet with my son and we had a great time. We have been in the hobby for couple years now and are having a great time learning new things daily on corals and fish.
We have a 65 saltwater fish only Tank, Niger Trigger, V.Lion, Snowflake, Mag. Foxface, Em. Angel, Dogface puffer all fish are small to Med. We also have a 29 gal Bio cube for corals and few small fish Clowns, watchman goby and skunk shrimp, crabs etc. I have set up 2- 20 gallon tanks In my work shop / room behind my garage with T5 96 watt lights for a frag and QT tank for fish. Sorry to drag out my Question. I am going to buy a New 90 gallon Tank reef ready and stand with hood and I want to hear some of your suggestions on Skimmers, pumps, over flow set ups to run a quiet system and not over do it and make it to complicated. I have ordered 2 LED boxes that should cover the lights and I am going to use a U.V. Sterilizer but I am not happy with my 65 gallon tank now has a 20 gal sump set up with the sock and the Reef Octopus 4″ Pinwheel In Sump Skimmer . for some reason it seems loud with the suction in the overflow and the skimmer working and I want to try and quiet it down because this tanks going in the living room. Thanks for any help and Thanks for all the information this site and all the members share Shane |

Look up a durso stand pipe. I'm assuming your overflow has just a straight pipe for the return.
