Geissman Bulbs
Hi …
I've been a member since December and have a 72 gal tank with fish and corals. I’m about to change out the bulbs in my Coralife 48” T5 (4) bulb fixture for the first time. Have heard good things about Geissman bulbs and would like to try them. There are five different types of Geissman bulbs. Does anyone have any recommendations on placement of the bulbs from front to back in the light fixture and any comments about the different types of bulbs … e.g Actinic Plus, Aquablue Plus, Aquapink, Midday 6000, and Pure Actinic? Thanks / Bowfront Bob |

I just switched over because I was told by the LFS that they last 6 months longer (who knows?). I have two whites, one actinic and one "purple". The LFS was out of the other actinic. I have no idea what the benefits are. The LFS are a knowleddgeable bunch, and I trust their judgment. I was happy for almost three years with the new wave bulbs that came with the fixture. I changed them every 15 or so months. They recommend 1 year. I don't have anything expensive or exotic in my tank though. It is rather underwhelming, but I am happy with it.

From front to back:
Whiter look Actinic + Aquablue + Actinic + Aquablue + Bluer look Actinic + Actinic + Aquablue + Actinic + I prefer the KZ Superblue bulb for actinic as it has great par and a very nice deep blue look. |
