Ask for pictures, if not provided. Most will provide them, if asked.

As for 'good deals', my very smart and wise wife occassionally reminds me that 'there will always be more'. If you miss out, be patient.

Nothing has changed for non-members buying. It is only for selling that the rules have changed.

Edit: FWIW-

The $30 membership works out to $2.50/month or $0.58/week.

In THIS hobby that is one of the few real bargains you will find, IMHO.

Not to mention you can earn that back in savings with sponsors, in a very short period of time.

AND you can certainly come out ahead of the game at the Frag Meeting.

I was wrong about who can see what. I origionally thought that club announcements was a private forum.

Actually, I think they have only this one open to all. I tried other member forums and can't get in. Makes sense to open this so they maybe won't get bugged with questions about it.

I'm not able to go to any of the meetings because of the day the meetings fall on. What would be the purpose of joining if I'm not able to attend the meetings? Ten percent discount means nothing to me. I feel if I have a good deal for a fellow member that he or she should have the opportunity to purchase. Just my .2 cents.

Now you have one more reason to join. membership is what distinguishes us from craigslist. Ebay charges to list as well.

You gave me no reason to justify becoming a member, you simply stated an obvious fact that I'm well aware of. I would use EBay over Craigslist anyday. I feel if I have a super deal on a tank or other things that members and non members on this site should have the chance to buy whether or not I'm a member.

If everybody and their mamma that sold junk and busted tanks on craigslist decided to come and clog up our forums with their leaky tanks and garbage, I would be pretty upset. Yeah there are some good deals and bad deals.

I think this forum should be used for it's most important purpose: reef discussion.

But why do you feel you have a right to publish on a site for free? This club is operated through the Passion and interest of its members for its members. From the inception of this organization the general driving force has been just that, with a very small margin of people who only use it to sell things. In our opinion, or at least mine, that has no significant upside to the general wellfare of the club. it would seem your only interest is to sell things here otherwise like me you would understand the contribution many make to ensure the clubs survival. So I say again, if it eludes you completely why you would become a member I think you may need to lower the bar a bit surrounding Craigslist.

I have no problem "paying for playing" but if I'm paying and not playing what's the point? I'm not losing out, but I feel a lot of people on here may be losing out on some great deals. For instance I was just getting ready to sell one of my tanks for a great price but since I can't members and non memebers on this site are missing an opportunity.
