acan problem
i have an acan frag that was doing great..when i got it, it had about 4 heads of decent size..about a month ago it went through a growth spurt and popped up about 4 more heads within the month...the frag is glued to a circular stone disk that sits on the sand
one day i decided i didnt like seeing the edges of the disc and pushed the disk into the sand so that only the frag was visible... later i found out this may not be good and that the bacteria from the sand may harm the frag? 2 days later when i found this out i oulled the frag back out a bit but noe the heads hardly ever open all the way..before i could see all the little tenticles popping out and now they only come out halfway at night and the heads never seem to inflate fully is this because of the sand thing?...if so, lesson learned and i'll not do it again also how do tell if the heads are dead...they still have their bright color, just dont see the tenticles at the moment |

It will help if you baster feed it every day. If you know the time of day the little tenticles come out that is the best time to feed it.

ouch..everyday?...i have such a small tank i was only baster feeding it once a week...i wondered if i starved it..it still has the color so i guess its not too late...baster feeding it everyday is a huge increase in food to the whole tank...i guess when i upgrade to my 30g with a skimmer thatll take care of a little overfeeding though

I can always trade you a frag of something for it. You have seem my collection and know I am a acan Fanatic. I spot feed mine 3 times a week. You have my number if you get worried about it

I use a Elos coral food, Mix it with water( I mix it with Fuel ) and feed it. its just tiny particles, My acans open up at 12pm every night because they know its food time.
Edit: If you want to try some I have quite a bit. I can let you try some of it to see if they like. Just have to be careful not to over do it. |

Its not cheap. It ran me like 20 a box. I will give you like a 2 month supply to try out before you spend the money. Ghat way if you do not like it you wont be out anything.
