Stoney's 300gal Starfire Build Thread!
Ok so today I came to the conclusion I was gonna go with a glass tank and not acrylic! I had my mind set on the marineland 300dd and wanted to see if chris @ fishscales could eurobrace it for me. He said he would, then asked if I was interested in letting him build my whole tank! After talking to him thats exactly what im gonna do! So I can have the tank built to the exact specs I want! So let the build thread begin!

It's not the best pic but, from the living room looking through the foryer, this used to be what the tank room looked like.

Colin, chris and I have discussed building the structual parts of the stand, its gonna be pretty simple, 4x4 post etc, grouper therapy has blessed me with his word to come down and help me with the cosmetic side of the stand and canopy. Basically itll be sheet rocked and trimmed to blend into the walls of the room, similer to the way Oz has his setup. However, if it all works out right, the back of the tank backs up to the wall that divides the tank room from the kitchen and i am installing a port hole so you can view the tank from the kitchen! the stairs go up the wall so you could sit on the stairs and look in the port hole!! lighting, i already have 3x lumenmax elite reflectors, 400w radiums that are less than 1 month old, and as of now, good old pfo 400w ballast. I may use the 4 ecoexotic LED modules i have as well.
