OK.
doing my wiring on LED light tonight. I'll be posting pics as I get things done! I have the CREE LEDs mounted to the sink via thermal epoxy, holes drilled in the sink to reduce wire clutter on the front, and my work table ready to go. wish me luck! check back soon! |

Basics
I'll be running 2x Meanwell ELN-40-48D dimmable drivers in line with my RKL with the ALC to supply the 0-10v. Here are the drivers. I also did myself a favor and ordered PRETINNED electrical wire! 60 degree optics for the royal blues. no optics available for the whites. OH, and of course my soldering station haha |

Ok this seems to be a step some ppl forget to do.. so I went ahead and did it before doing ANYTHING else!
on each driver I went ahead and turned the internal trimpot down all the way . the correct pot is labeled SRV2 If you forget and do a test.. BLAM.. blows your LED string and its $$ down the drain! |

Putting standard plug onto meanwell.
soldered connections.. individually wrapped with electrical tape, then heat shrink over the entire connection. = 2 MW drivers with standard US plugs ![]() |

![]() it is a prototype for my reef lighting. I'm just doing 1 of 6 sections right now to see if i like the light, and how my corals will react. Going to put it over my frag rack. |

the RUNNING cost will be significantly less than t5 (which I have now), but the upfront is more expensive. please don't ask about PAR and so forth..There is an entire battery of PAR police on message boards. b |
