FS Lots of dead liverock that needs to GO!
My work is selling off the liverock that has been in a freshwater tank for just at a year. Obviously, it is no longer alive, but would make GREAT base rock. I believe the tank to be about 150 gallons and it is pretty packed with rock.
There are approx. 30-40 pieces of rock. Not sure of the actual number of rock though. Varying from 1-5 pounds. There is one Tufa Stone that are commonly used for freshwater tank decor. Also several dead coral pieces from probably plate corals, bubble corals, and other various corals. Asking $3 a pound, but price is negotiable. Will take $250 if you would like to take all of it. Also have river stone substrate that is in it currently. Will sell all for $50, but it's negotiable as well. Not sure how many pounds is in the tank, but it comes up about an inch and a half in a 150 gallon tank. Since this is at my work, I am not always able to be here for someone to come get it (like at night) but we may be able to work something out anyway. PM me to set up a time. I'm trying to get containers for you to take it all home in as well, but you still might have to bring your own. All rock will be weighed as we take it out so it's fair. PM me with any questions you have. Thanks! Kelsey Location of work is Cedarcrest Animal Hospital 2355 Cedarcrest Rd. Acworth, GA 30101 |

I definitely will! And by holidays, I'm hoping to start redoing that freshwater tank after Thanksgiving, before Christmas.

Rick, getting the new substrate for planted tanks after the new year and hopefully it'll be with the money from selling the rock. Then I'll have those river stones for you!

$3/lb for deadrock is probably a little expensive when you can get liverock on here for $2-$3

I know. I've gotten a couple PM's saying that. But it's not me setting the price. I'm sellling this for my boss. When he bought this rock, it was way more expensive than what we can buy it for now....so he's still wanting to get some money back. He might drop the price though if someone actually met up with me there.

Regardless I don't think $250 is really all THAT bad for all that rock. I could have spent almost that to fill my 80....but this is enough rock to fill a 150

You could throw it in a tub of salt water for a month and sell it as live rock...
That's what Petco here does... |

hahahahhaha! Our petco actually got them sent in already live. That's crazy though! I suppose I could put them in our salt water tank.....haha but I was hoping that this all would be gone by now. It has to fund this tank's transition to a planted tank.
Plus, our salt tank is CRAWLING with big bristleworms that I'm sure most people don't want starting out. haha. |

As soon as my work slows back down, I should be able to take otu all the rock and dry it out. (Which I may be able to get to this week or next depending on how busy we are)
Have a better clue then. |
