Red Sea Max ???
This is the description of the lighting on an RSM:
" Complete lighting system 2 x 55 watt T5 power compacts (1 watt-liter/4 watt-gallon)" So, my question is are they T5 or PC's? Can they keep SPS healthy? Also, does the RSM come with an ATO? do you even need one since it has a lid? If I were to buy one of these are there any improvements I need to make or is it really plug and play??? |

From what I have read, no personal experience by the way, these are pretty awesome systems that come reef ready for anything and are plug and play. I don't know of anyone that actually has one, but all the reviews are great. I know, not much help.

I have only seen 2 in person. One with great softies one clown and the other with a mix, baby clam, false perc pair and a six line. Both had the pads taken out and the back filled with rubble. Great setups.
How's Miami treatin ya? Got any deals straight from the collectors yet? SWF and LA get some of their stuff from there

I saw one in person yesterday. Very nice looking but I believe they are pc's. Softies where doing well but other corals where bleaching a bit. From what my friend said its not worth the money. But I have heard people tell me not to buy something and when I do I'm glad I did so I guess its more or a personal choice. I wouldn't buy one personally unless it was used and at a good price.

I have a RSM and the bulbs are T5's. I would say an ATO would not be needed. There are mods that you can buy for the lid. I personally like the RSM.

MY RSM says t-5's but look just like dual 50/50 pc bulbs to me. Softies do well, but what few sps I have put in have not done real well, but they have come from a tank with MH's. My closest coral to the surface is probably about 5". I have difficulty keeping skimmer adjusted, always a fight. An ATO would be nice. I really do love my RSM. I mean it only cost me like $20.00, so I don't want to b*(^) too much. I would say it is a good plug and play. It is the focal point of my family room. I attached a picture of my bulbs.
