A real tank after over a year!

Well, I consider our 90G a real tank now! No more wet/dry sump rated for a 75 gallon tank. Mixed in some SPS and a couple of gorgeous LPS among some softies. Gonna upload some pics, but I just have a point and shoot and the halides were out, so imagine everything ten times as pretty! lol Almost everything that’s not a softie is a frag or small colony. We’re looking forward to watching the growth!

Current fishies: (All came from Blue Planet except GSM maroon, inherited with tank)
Yellow tang,
regal tang,
gold striped maroon clown hosting a GBTA,
15" snowflake eel, (Bulwinkle, but should be bulldozer the way he plows through food!)
4" blue jaw trigger, (My two year old son appropriately named Batman)
green wrasse, (Jose)
2" dragon goby

Only inverts besides snails (and coral :P ) : (all Blue Planet)
blue spot sea hare,
fighting conch,
coco worm, and one huge arse feather duster that seems to have a double crown now.

Softies: spaghetti leather, cabbage leather, rhodactis (brown and green), some other mushrooms (purple and brown and lumpy, bright red, frilly bright green) some brown and green polyps (soon to be sold, but still spreading), a little xenia on one rock, a little gsp on same rock. A few pretty zoa frags that will move to nano one they've grown.

LPS: Bright green brain (3-4"), (Blue Planet)
red and green open brain (2"), (Aquatic Pets)
small branching octopus frogspawn (Keen Reef),
two heads of the prettiest hammer coral I've seen,
frogspawn, (Akopley, I think)
large green goniopora (almost a year!), (Blue Planet)
3" purple/blue pagoda cup, (Blue Planet)
30 or so heads of green candycane (Jessezm)

SPS:
Very pretty pink pocci (Creation)
Hyacinth birdsnest (Keen Reef)
pink birdsnest, (Creation for 15 bucks! HUGE frag!)
tri colored valida (Jin)
orange digitata (Einstein’s)
Perry's acro (from Todd for free! Thanks!)
ORA green birdsnest (Chauwall)
Orange/green monti cap (Einstein’s)
yellow porites, maze, and another monti cap from frag meeting

Equipment:

We pulled out the wet/dry 75, that did very well for us for almost a year until we increased bio load. Made a new sump from a 30 long we got from Kirru. This was our first DIY project on the tank. One baffle leaked twice, everything else has held for three days now. The plumbing leaked the first night, but after much cursing, Rich got that worked out last night. MR-1 skimmer pulling poop. Bought this baby from Seedless Reefer. He mentioned that it was the first piece of equipment he had that made him feel like he had real quality piece of equipment. He’s right. This baby makes me feel like a real reefer. Sump is running three compartments with a sand / chaeto fuge. We need to get a higher rated return pump, but that can wait for just a second.

Curing another 20 lbs of live rock in an extra tank. We got this free from Blue Planet when it was pulled out of a client’s tank. There are a couple of really pretty pieces that I plan to swap out for some rock in the display.

Pictures uploading!

Frag rack - I plan to plumb a 10 gallon frag tank into system and use a halide pendant for a frag tank.

Nice! Would love to see a pic of those trumpets wide open after a fish feeding.

No doubt! This thing IS like having two skimmers. My yellow tang got too close to the overflow and had all his poo sucked right out! Well, not really, but he always dumps during feeding when I have my nose pressed up against the glass. You reckon that's personal?
