Grimreefer I do not get out that way (work from home) but don't you need to go out to Salt Water City for something? I am about 10 minutes from there.

How would you plumb it if it were to be used externally?
That inlet housing looks HUGE (and the footprint is too large for my sump)

I would say most folks use a pump like this in a sump. It is not very big as pumps go.
