Johnr's 120
I am going to be putting this build together over the next few weeks. I am starting a thread so I get peoples opinion on parts of it. ordered a 120 48x24x24 with dual overflows that should be here tomorrow. My plans are to set up the 120 with a 22 gallon frag tank plumbed into it. They will have matching stands. Anyway I have alot of stuff and will be looking for some more.
As for equipment I plan on using the sump I have on my 40b thats just under 40g. For lighting I am looking for another 250w PFO HQI pendant or something similar. This would give me 2x250 plus 2x39w T-5ho actinics. As for skimmers, I have a coralife 125 and MRC oceanforce 100. I'm not sure either is large enough so I will probably be looking to do some trading to get one thats more appropriate to the size. I have also tossed around the idea of running both of them. i plan on using a mag 12 for a return. For flow I am probably going to go with 3 or 4 modded maxijets. On the frag tank I am going to be running a mag 5 and a 175 watt se with a ushio 14k and ARO ballast. I already have all this laying around so it cuts down on the cost. I will throw some K-2s in for flow. It will be plumbed in to the bigger system and the stand will have shelves for storage. I will get some pics up because I am starting the stand tomorrow, and hopefully going to get the tank. |

Big props go out to Shromy for helping me move some stuff around. We got my 40b moved to make room for the big tank. I didn't get the stand started today but I will get it and the canopy done over the next week.

You probably should, just leave it in the protective cardboard and set it out by the street tomorrow night. Santa will surely come for someone!

Got started on the stand. I may get it skinned tonight also. Probably over built it, but better safe than sorry.

Sweetness! You can't overbuild a stand John. Make it sturdy; you won't be sorry.
Good to see you're making it without a center brace. Those center braces are a PITA. |

Got the sheeting on and most of the trim done. I still need to put the floor in and build the doors. There are also a couple of pieces of trim I have to put on the corners . I plan on painting it black. I will be building a canopy for it next.
