eating an apple and.....
so I was eating an apple, Fuji to be exact and I realized that the appple was much harder in texture than the Fuji that I ate yesterday, why is this? Is the apple not as ripe? Needless to say I didnt feel like eating a concrete ball so I threw it out.....that saddens me......poor apple.

Fuji Apples rock though! I just tried a Honey Crisp Apple and it is a strong contender against the Fuji. Very good.

The flesh of most fruits tends to soften when it ages/ripens. I think it has something to do with enzymes converting starch to sugar, which is why ripe fruit is sweeter....I'll "google" it to see what I come up with; you've got me curious too.

You should just switch to Pink Lady apples. They are sweeter cousin of the fuji...awesome.
If the apple is too hard, you could always cut it into slices and slather it with peanut butter. There is no way to not like it covered with peanut butter. |

You have to go to the farmer' market or to Target to get the Pink Ladies. Kroger stopped carrying them a few months ago. Very sad...

My favorite apples are Mcouns. The ones I picked were the size of softballs. Awesome taste
