Emeralds are a crap shoot. So are tangs, Fox face.

. Long story short, nothing is LIKELY to eat it. Get rid of it by starving it of nutrients.

Naso tangs and 2 band rabit fish seam to be safer bets but still hit or miss

Take a hose, sharp object and suck , scrape the bubbles out

Thanks falos, wonder if the Naso tang will be OK with my Yellow Tang, Female Anthias, Bangai card and my 4 clowns.

Red sea sailfin tang worked for me. Cleaned up my 120 in about 2 weeks. Probably wouldn't get along with your yellow though...

Naso worked for me in my 125. Gets along fine with my kole tang. Went right to the bubble algae within minutes of being in the tank, but he won't touch hair algae.

I have good luck with Emeralds eating smaller bubble algae. Never had a fish that would eat it (had purple, soho, RS sailfin, etc)

How do you starve bubble algae of nutrients and not affect the other good living organisms within the tank? I'm a newbie when it concerns green bubble algae.

Most algae can be starved by lowering phosphates, nitrates and silica. More on the phosphate and nitrates though.

Anybody have luck with NO3PO4X ? I started using it and it seems to keep a small bubble group to one rock, but have not seen it go down. (emerald crab goes all over the place, except the dang rock with the bubble)
