Great color Reggie - how long have you been running the LED's again?

Seth - sad but funny. Looking forward to the details.

Perfect timing to ask for this too. Pics are separated by a year. Exactly to the day.
I will add pics as I dig them up. The first pic will be a coral that came from the exact cutting you got yours from.
June 10, 2011 to June 10, 2012

Next pics are a Stag and Red Planet frags then what each grew to

Read his threads, he never bashed LED's. He quite clearly stated his irritation towards Aqua Illuminations because of the misrepresentation of thier capabilities. Since then I believe he double the LED units recommended.

I know Seth was having color issues due to smurfing
But as far as ratings in this hobbie there always above what they realy are
raidon is no better both them and ai say 2' spread Hell mrc makes a 4' tank mounting bracket for 2 raidons but I tried and Had dark spots and couldn't grow coral towards the top of the tank due to the spread of the lights. Or raise the lights all the way up and not be able to keep clams on the sand bed with out them darkening
I'm not bashing eather fixture. I like the ease of the ai controls but wish there was more color options with the units. And the raidons have sum of the best software on the market but can't stand having to hook a pc up to them in order to control the fixtures. Some one needs to help these guys out its called blue Toth or sum other form wireless connection. Iwill be adding 2 more raidons wen I git the funds together

I have one Radion on a 93 cube. I wouldn't rave about results, but I have noticeable growth on sps and have great color for my liking. I can say that I get the coverage I need for my liking. I'm happy!

More blue then white most people try to chase the radium 400w 20k look but led just can't produce that deep of a blue but they can hit the blue of the 1000w bulbs though
Pretty much if your tank is the color of a smurf your gona have issues with the led no matter the manufacture
White light grows coral blue gives color. During your first 4 hrs of the photo period the14k look will give better growth then you can go 90%blue 10% white for viewing afterwards
I run mine at 100% all colors then at night just blue and red

The Stag coral I have is the best/happiest piece in the tank. Why? I have one guess. It's the highest up. Only about 4" beneath the water line. Acro's barely budge in growth deeper than 6" down in my tank. That's a big problem in my opinion.

Here are some pics of sps that are further down than 6"
First is a Palmers blue milli. This is not a mistake in when I took the pictures. This is after one year.
Second is one of the fastest growers around. Finally, I moved it up to 4" below the water line about 4 months ago.

The biggest reason apart from my displeasure with growth is that multicolored SPS DO NOT look the same under LED as MH.

Come on over and see. I'll flip the MH off and just run the LED's. Do they look nice under both? Yes. One just looks better.

Easy real world comparison is TV shopping. When in the store and you see two TV's side by side playing the same program it's easy to see how much better the picture is on one vs the other. Get one home and you loose the perspective rather quickly.

I got sick of taking corals (SPS only! LPS and Zoa's rock under LED) home from stores or members tanks and no sooner than it hitting the water of my tank it didn't look as good.

LED manufacturers and users are chasing Radium look and performance. Sanjay uses Radiums as a benchmark to rate LED fixtures by.
Why go use something that is busy chasing when you already have the undisputed leader?

Why? Because people are looking to save money, (energy/heat/chillers/bulb replacement) dim their fixtures, and control their light temperature. Oh yeah, and if they can get some growth and/or color while they're at it, yippie!

I simply choose to put performance first and unfortunate inconveniences second.

My RD growth was surprisingly fast.

It's over 12" in diameter now.

Great LED feedback though.
