Monthly Meeting Format

Is there somewhere I can review what a typically meeting agenda would look like? I attended my first meeting and really felt out of place since I really had no idea of the game plan. I plan on making more and looking forward to getting my knowledge to a point where I can take advantage of frag swapping. I saw some beautiful pieces.

The one this month was a bit different than normal. We have that style a couple times a year. Gives everyone a chance to visit and get to know each other as well as trade some frags. Other meetings have speakers that are brought in. A couple months ago we had Jack Kemp who started Kemp Marine. He gave a very good talk on the importance of PH and Alk. I learned a lot out of that one. Another month they did a demonstration on how to frag corals and anemones.

It really varies from month to month but most of them are pretty laid back. Keep coming to the meetings and you will meet a lot of great people and learn a ton of good info. I have made most of them over the past year and I am very glad I have.

Not to pick on you Rich. I believe it was Jack Kent founder of Kent Marine.

Bah, I was actually at this meeting..I like meeting other Suwanee folks in the hobby. And I'm the easiest one to find; if you see a brown guy at an ARC meeting/event, odds are very high that it me (not to mention the elevated levels of awesome)

+1 However, Stacy and Rich were very nice and it was a pleasure to meet them. That's all the people that I actually got to meet. I think part of the reason is that the place was too small but the pizza was divine. I think a cookout at a park would be awesome . Specially if it took place somewhere close.

I was at the end of the long table for a good part of the night and outside shooting the breeze the rest of the night. I was the old fat guy losing all his hair. You know, the good looking one. LOL

As first timer, yes I met Stacy and rich also. I met a few others but I suffer from CRS so I did not remember their names.

We had a cookout - in June... not in a park this time, it was in a parking lot (at my shop). It was a blast though.

It was a pleasure to meet you too Stacy. We're thinking we might drive up again to get some pizza. It's on y'all conscience because you got us hooked.

The ARC should have them as official greeters. Scratch that, Stacy is already overworked but very proficient. I came home from the meeting to find my account updated as a paying member

Yup I read about it. BTW I heard you gave out Gem Tangs as souvenirs. I'll pick mine up when I am more experienced and have built my 1000 gal tank

Don't get frustrated with this months meeting. Normally we are in a venue specifically for us reef heads. Because I wasnt totally sure who was with us and who wasn't I stuck with people I knew. Really, it was a furnace In there so I hung outside most of the night. Typical meetings like I said are only us where everyone is wearing name tags... Makes it a little easier to recognise each other.
