68g Rimless build

Thought I would start a new tank thread. Might actually keep this one updated, we shall see.

Anyway, upgrading from my JBJ 30-RL. Current iphone pic:

Simply out of room.

Equipment on the way, or already have:

Cadlights Versa 68 g setup
2 Radion G3 Pros with RMS
MP40WES Quiet Drive
Cadlight NR-1 Biopellet reactor
Hydor smart level ATO
Bubble Magus 2 part doser (BRS 2 part)
Full APEX with WXM for Ecotech products
Will build mesh top with 1/2" X 1/4" acrylic bars/rods (have 1/4x1/4 top on current tank, it bows due to tension from mesh. Hoping this will be fixed by using wider acyrlic.

Skimmer - still undecided. I will get exact measurements of sump and decide if I will use the sump and if so what skimmer I will get. Aquamaxx, RO, and Vertex all under consideration.

Tank should be here tomorrow. Will start with plumbing (I have no idea how to plumb a sump, have used AIOs up until now). May need to reach out to members for help. Plan simple flex tubing setup.

Gonna go ahead and tag along o nthis. I really like those cadlights tanks. I'm thinking of doing their 150 once I finally move. Plumbing is honestly a lot easier than you think. Figure out what you want, and try to draw a plan on paper. As you map it out, things start to make more sense. You also have the benefit of having some great members in your area how I'm sure would love to lend a hand.

Sweet. Thanks so much. You know I will have plenty of accidental frags to give you when I make the switch.

Tagging along! Just looked the tank up online, I like it. LMK if you ever need any help or anything, pretty close by.

I decided to go with a RLSS r6-1 skimmer. The price point and reviews sold me. It should be here today.

Need to cut starboard for bottom, this will be my 4th BB tank. Love the look of sand, but its too much trouble imo in a high flow SPS tank.

My back has been acting up so I haven't been able to do any of the plumbing. I did get the old tank moved out if the way so I could get the new one in place. Hope for a wet update this weekend.

Is starboard foam? I googled it, but couldn't really grasp it.

Its plastic sheets. Like cutting board material. HDPE is another name for it. Some people use it on bottom for BB tanks so they dont put their rocks directly on the glass. This is the first time I am using it.

I got the starboard cut and placed in the tank. I hope to plumb and freshwater test tomorrow. Got all equipment ready to go. And wouldn't you know it the ole back is acting up. Might slow me down a little. I would really like to swap tanks by the end of this weekend. We shall see. Pics tomorrow.
