Quiet fans?
I am running two fans to keep the temperature of my metal halides down inside my canopy. They are about four and a half inches. They seem to be a bit loud and I was hoping someone might be able to recommend some relatively quiet fans.

I bought some from cooler guys that are very quiet. Let me look in the morning and I'll let you know what model they are

generally speaking...the larger the fan the slower it has to spin. the slower the fan needs to spin the quieter it will be.

Thanks for the advise on the ones that you use. I looked at them and found out after Googling the fans that I already had that they are about the same as far as noise level goes. I think I am especially sensitive because my tank is in my living room and noises can really get under my skin. That being said I did some more research and decided to switch my 115v fans for a couple 12v computer case fans. I went with a couple Cooler Master fans that are rated for 3 CFM less than my original ones but are 13 decibels quieter. So far I could not be happier, I really have to listen to even be able to notice them.

I use stealth fans and love them.

You can also try running 12v fans at a lower voltage. They will push less air but be much quieter.
