Ok guys, I turned in the head count yesterday morning as promised. Through out the day, I recieved a few more RSVPs. This is a hard/tough call for me. I am seeking advice to see how to handle this, but as of now, if your name is not on the list I posted above, then you currently do not have a spot available.

I am truly sorry to those that were late to respond. I started this thread, fully informing that there would need to be an RSVP, allowing plenty of time to do so. This has taken time away from my family to plan, and seachem required a head count.

Please be understanding that if you did not RSVP in time, the fault does not fall on myself, or seachem for denying you a spot.

Thanks!

Yep , everyone had plenty of time!! its a 2-1/2 hr drive for me and i took vacation. Ripped, you cannot control tardiness, when a outfit like Seachem needs responses it is not respectable to be late

*****this is important if you plan on coming*****

Still getting a few PMs. To clarify....

Monday August 30th was the last day that I was taking RSVP. On Tuesday at 9:00am, I sent the FINAL RSVP list to seachem.

This was important because seachem had to rent chairs for the presentation, be properly staffed for the event, and have the appropriate number of goody bags for everyone. The first late RSVP I recieved was on Tuesday at ~11:30 am. I said to myself, that shouldn't be a problem, I'll send seachem an email. They said that as soon as they recieved my origional email, they began their part of the planning, and had already put in an order to rent chairs. The "stragglers" would have to stand, and may not get a goodie bag.

Ok, here's my descision. It's not fair to the people that did RSVP in the appropriate time. It's probably going to be busy, and I won't have time to micromanage who gets to stand and who doesn't get goodie bags.

This conflicts me, I want everyone to come. I also respect the company that is hosting this meeting. I'm afraid that if your pm has a time stamp after 8/20/12, and I have not responded to the RSVP(everyone should have recieved a confirmation if the RSVP was recieved in time). Then you are going to have to sit this one out....

While it may be hard for you to take that stance, it is really the best way to handle it. Trying to accomidate those who came late to the party will make it hard on the you, the host and in the long run, lessen the experience for everyone. You gave ample time and opportunity for everyone to join in.
