Hi-

I'm a new member and have been going to different forums regularly for information/help in the last 4 months.

I had a 55 gallon salt for 10 years, but that was 14 years ago! I'm amazed at the changes and progress in this industry. It's so wonderful! So much simpler!

Anyhow, I jumped back in with a Red Sea 34 gal. (Purchased second hand.) It didn't take me long to realize I had made a huge mistake in the 34gal. What was I thinking? Since when have I EVER been happy downsizing???) The hubby has been great, but he doesn't want to hear anything about purchasing a larger tank. (the man has his limits, sigh) PLEASE SELL TICKETS TO THOSE OF US WHO LIVE OUT OF ATTENDANCE RANGE.

I will personally drive to pick it up! That's not a problem!

Maybe? Please?

Unfortunately, tickets will continue to only be made available at meetings. The original purpose of this raffle was to encourage attendance not raise revenue. I'm sorry you live so far away!

The ticket pulled that evening will be recycled for the grand prize at the end of the year.

All those buying tickets at the June meeting will be eligible to win a SEA Systems SSR-200 Media Reactor that evening.

I base this on 150g total water volume and 20% water changes bi-weekly. We're talking high grade stuff here too.

As far as the attendance issue...its good that we have the meetings in different locations so different people can attend. The 1st meeting I attended was quite a drive for me(at Imagine Ocean), but the 2nd one(at 3200 Downwood Circle NW Atlanta, GA) wasn't to far for me. My point is...this guy says he is out of range but all of us have to travel a little if we want to get there and I think getting the raffle tickets is the prize for that traveling.

I purchased a few tickets at the July meeting and ended up winning one of the rose bubble tip anemone frags so my investment has actually worked out well so far.

I live down the road from the storage facility, so that would be convenient also.

i disagree with this statement(s) but thats ok

I'm not sure where the individual in question is from.. . but there are those of us who live "out of range".. a 5 hour round trip is too for a reef club meeting..

man i thought my 3.5 hour round trip was bad to imagine ocean was bad id hate to have to drive from IL and back lol

It's kinda cool that the ARC has grown to encompass such a large area, I guess we are a regional club now!

I did the 5+ hour drive yesterday, it's not fun - I think I'll only be able to do it a couple of times a year. It's even longer if you try and visit a sponsor or two (I tried one on the North side, cool looking store customer service was not bad, but not good either I was disappointed. Maybe it was a bad day, I'll try them again later)

I wounder if there are enough activity to support different chapters, Like a Southside or North Georgia (yeah, I hoping for a Mountains chapter)

You can set up a group like with the Home Brewing. There are some members in the Augusta Area that did that I think.

Due to circumstances out of my control, I can not make the meeting either. So I would like to follow this thread in case the opportunity to show my support for ARC and pourchase raffle tickets comes available thorugh online means.

Seth, I think it was a good idea what you were saying..."the whole purpose of the raffle was to raise attendance at the meetings not revenue".
