Apex Auto Water Change
Anyone ever programmed their Apex to do an auto water change? Please show your programming.
I have been wanting to do this for a while now and am just now getting time to think about the programming. Not able to test this out now but thought I would run the programming by you guys 1st to see if you think it makes sense... I am thinking to use the Feed Count Down to initiate the water change. Using the Feed option, I think it allows for redundancy by it's count down programming (I set this for 12 Min based on all the pumps run time). The use of a float switch and the defer command will limit drain run time and the new salt water run time. By using the feed command, if the defer commands do not work for whatever reason, or if the float switch sticks, the Feed Count Down should stop everything. Question, should there be a Min Time command in the drain pump programming to prevent it from coming back on? Maybe a Min Time 012:00 Then ON after the defer command? Logic: 1) Feed D set to run 2) Return pump stops (as well as skimmer, UV, ATO, chiller, heater, etc - this is in my other programming) 3) Drain Pump kicks on (runs for 4:35, then off) 4) Salt Water kicks on (runs for 6:30, then off - if float switch is open, else off. This time is longer due to head pressure and length of water travel from about 25 feet away from DT) 5) Return Pump kicks back on (after 1 min, skimmer, UV, ATO, chiller, heater, etc - this is in my other programming) Programming: [FEED D] 10 Min Count Down [Return] If FeedD 000 Then OFF [Drain_Pump] Fallback OFF Set OFF If FeedD 000 Then ON Defer 4:35 Then OFF [Salt_Pump] If FeedD 000 Then ON If Switch1 CLOSED Then OFF Defer 6:30 Then ON Thank you for your help!

honestly I'd do it with float switches instead of timing. Timing is too rough of a calculation IMHO.

The intent is to press a button then it do everything. I would never allow this to run without supervision.
