leveling tank

Just bought a used 120g tank and stand, got the plumbing, rock, sand, water all in, then realized I didn't check for level.

Looks to be just under 1/4" high on one end of the 48" tank. Also from the old water line it looks like he had it about the same.

Is it worth the trouble to drain and shim with that small of a difference? Haven't moved my livestock over yet.

Also not certain how to shim, I assume just two on the end is no good as it wouldn't distribute the weight evenly. It's on hardwood.

You drain it half way and shim it every 6". Place the level from front left corner to back right and tmdo the opposite. It can be a pain. But it will be right. I don't believe a 1/4" will hurt anything though.

Is there a gap where it sits on the stand? Level isn't really a huge deal.... Being flat is though. You want it sitting flush on the stand, otherwise there will be too much stress put on the seams.

No gap that I can tell. I think the stand is just not built level since it matches the previous owners water line.

If 1/4" isn't a problem I'm going to leave it as is. It's not noticeable unless you know what you are looking for.
