Sept 10th - Tennesee Aquarium

After a bit of discussion and several attempts that fell through, we're having an informal get together at the Tennessee Aquarium this Saturday, Sept 10th.

This isn't anything formal - just fellow ARC members meeting up at the Tennessee Aquarium to tour together and then possibly go get dinner afterwards.

Chattanooga is about a 2-3 hour drive from Atlanta, depending on where you're coming from.

Let's plan to meet in the main lobby at 1:00 - this is enough time to make it up there and get lunch, etc. If you want to carpool, that's great- just look for others here. If you want to go up by yourself and stay the day, that's fine, too- there's no signup or bus - just meet and have fun touring a great nearby aquarium!

If you are coming to Chattanooga, there is a free concert at Ross's Landing on Saturday evening. It is called "Riverfront Nights" and starts at 7 PM. Many people bring lawn chairs, but there is plenty of seating on the terraced area. There will be food and beverage for sale. The weather should be delightful. Don't worry about a big crowd, or leaving your chairs unattended. It is a cool event.

The lineup is Pee Wee Moore & the Awful Dreadful Snakes at 7 p.m. and Chattanooga's very own country star, Eric Heatherly at 8 p.m. Pee Wee Moore is a great singer/songwriter. Should be a great show, the last one of the season.

To get there, exit the TN Aquarium "River Journey" building, and head down to the water. Cross Riverside Drive and walk toward the "high pier" which is immediately to the right in mojo's photo. The stage is located just below the pier, facing the Aquarium. Inside tip - the public restrooms which are located in a smaller, squat building just outside the River Journey exit should be open all evening, and are much better than using the port-a-johns set up nearer the concert, especially after sundown.
