Do you have a canopy? Purplegorilla has 2x250 mogel based halides he's asking a very decent price for, but they are retro fits. I'm still thinking about them myself, but I really want HQI instead.

You could also go with all T5's. I did and my sps and clam are doing great.

Okay, Bryan, let's talk about that......

I got a 90G RR tank from someone. He told me my 4 x 48" t-5s would be enough light for anything, including an anemone. I have heard, and seen that elsewhere too. However, when I talked to a retailer about getting an anemone, he told me I didn't have enough lighting. I am now about to order some MH (which I probably would have done one day anyway). However, I'm curious to know: Would my 4 t-5s have been enough? 24" deep.....

Barb, the short answer is yes, that SHOULD be enough light. I would consider going with 6 if you can swing the space in your canopy but 4 T-5s, with the right ballast and good bulbs should put out the light of 2 175W halides. Heck, in my 55 gal I just added two T-5s to my 175W halides and it looks like it has almost doubled my PAR. (I have yet to check this with a PAR meter)

barbra if you have good reflectors on there you should be ok they are they key to t5 they make the bulb put out up to about 300 % so lets say you have a retro kit and your using icecap reflectors you should be ok but i would go with6 like brandon said

You want my suggestion on how I would redo my 90 gal?

2x250w HQI with 14k bulb
2x 4ft VHO One 10k one Actinic white
2x 4ft T-5's one 420nm actinic and one 460nm actinic
2x 2ft T-5's Both 6500k in between the two HQI's

This is about as close to a full spectrum as you can get from all my lighting research and should provide some incredible growth.

Haha yeah I live in an apt in Athens and I have my lights turning off at 10 pm. When you drive up all the apts have a yellowish glow to them and then you see my apt and its glowing bright white and blue.

Get a BTA and feed it well. It won't stay super colorful, but it will live fine if you feed it some mysis or krill every few days.

i will have some lights up for sale soon, i know you need them right now, but im waiting on selling all the sps out of my tank, and the rest of the stock before i part out the equipment, if you can wait a little bit, ill have 2x250 mh pfo ballast, with 2 36" t5's works great on my 120 for sps growth.

I have two 250W Halide SE Ballasts.. You would need the reflector and sockets (about $50) but it can be retrofited into your canopy.
