Do any of you know of a good place to find a pomeranian puppy. Yes I know I probably killed the spelling on it.

I don't know about poms, but Jin(FutureInterest) had some little rascals running around terrorizing his place... maybe he can clue you in... they didn't look much bigger than poms...

Donald, I really hope you'll consider a rescue dog.

Check out http://www.petfinder.com and pull up a list of rescue organizations in Georgia. There are some who specialize in the toy breeds and if you don't actually see a profile on the website for what you're looking for, you can email the various rescue organizations and one will most surely put you in touch with the right animal.

The pet population explosion in the United States has escalated to critical levels and millions of animals are put to death every year due to overbreeding. Even purebreds are being euthanized, including puppies. There's a dog out there for you, you just need to find it. If you're getting a dog for a child, that dog becomes even more special if the child knows she had a part in *saving* it.

Check out *Queenie* (http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=9632134) ... pretty darned cute and only 5 lbs.

Linda is right...if you can, rescue a dog..so many people get animals without realizing what their needs are....Its not their fault :(

Yeah I looked and called and the older ones they have they will not adopt because of the dog being shy and I have kids. I will keep looking. I just cant see paying 800.00 for a dog I know is out thier that just needs a home. I saw on craigslist one that said ADOPT chocolate Pom 700.00 Now how is that adoption for a needy pooch.

hey if you are still looking, comb the ajc classifieds every week. there are usually inexpensive quality dogs in there. And visit rescue operations. It feels good to save a dog. Try the pound too...

If all else fails you can always look in online and call all the pet stores around you and check the Petco's on Sundays! Good luck! My aunt had a pomeranian and he was cool but shed a lot! Try puppyfinder.com for breed info. Or juspphle them it helps to know what you're getting before you do! Lol well bro good luck, hope ti find what you're looking for.

Petco, PetSmart and PetSupermarket do not sell dogs/puppies and cats/kittens (and have my sincere thanks), but they do offer their storefronts to rescue organizations for adoption days. You could call the individual locations to see which rescue organization is scheduled to be at which location. (For instance, the Petco on Holcomb Bridge Road is the monthly Saturday adoption event location for The Atlanta Dog Squad (http://atlantadogsquad.org/). Another resuce organization is Georgia Partnership for Animals (http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/GA462.html) at that same location on Sundays

If you absolutely, positively must buy a dog, I would encourage a reputable, independent breeder rather than a commercial pet store. No matter what the pet store will claim, the majority of those puppies still come from puppy mills (http://www.cybrtyme.com/personal/dogpak/puppy_mills.htm) with horrible conditions and inhumanely treated adult dogs. The way to know for sure is to ask the pet store owner the name and address of the breeder so you can do a site visit and *meet* the parents of the puppy you're interested in.
