Please call me at 678-662-6336 for more details. Linda Lee 11-20-2007, 11:42 AM Your welcome for my offer also And thanks for your kind offer also. Sorry, trying to do 20 things at once and my feeble brain is limited to a about a "4" on the Multi-Tasking Scale. :'( LorenK 11-20-2007, 11:42 AM Linda, Another option is Google Documents. Google is actually trying to push this with the various school systems...my brother (a teacher) just did a one day training class with Google. Google Docs offers a Word Processor, Spreadsheet and Presentation tools. The nice thing is that you can share those docs online with anyone, or keep them private. Also, your docs are stored up on the google farm so you can access them anywhere. Go to docs.google.com I use Star Office (or whatever it is called now) on my Mac. It's pretty good but I'm using google docs more often now. Stroid 11-20-2007, 11:45 AM  Linda Lee 11-20-2007, 11:47 AM Linda, Another option is Google Documents. My son (13!!!) has to do a rather extensive Power Point presentation for his Advance Social Studies class and has major projects on the horizon for Advanced Science and Language Arts as well. I remember when just turning in something typed in high school with an illustration or two was enough to wow a teacher.... ackkkk flyingarmy 11-20-2007, 11:50 AM Heck...I remeber when the typewriter finally had some memory and it could retype 1 page. I thought that was da bomb! Linda Lee 11-20-2007, 12:16 PM Heck...I remeber when the typewriter finally had some memory and it could retype 1 page. I thought that was da bomb! Kids today have no clue what kind of advantage they have with the tools available for school. If I had this stuff available when I was in school, I'd be president by now... or at least, secretary ... uh... oh, wait... mojo 11-20-2007, 12:17 PM Linda- I'm no saint when it comes to using software legally, but we can't allow copy-protected software to be freely distributed here either. If you want to contact people via PM for a source, that's fine. If you want to buy it, contact a legitimate business source (including shaned!) Hope that makes sense- I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade, just trying to be consistent in what we allow around here. Stay legal! :) flyingarmy 11-20-2007, 12:23 PM "help..help I'm being oppressed" Monty Python Quote! Interesting direction this club is headed lately! Linda...I resign my offer, the software willl cost you $450. "Nudge..nudge...wink...wink, know what I mean!" Linda Lee 11-20-2007, 12:30 PM "help..help I'm being oppressed" Monty Python Quote! I'll trade you one of my rare $450 kenya tree frags... I do believe we've always done that... With the recent Interceptor policy, it would be consistent to have the same policy here. If you guys want to work out something behind the scenes, that's fine... Linda Lee 11-20-2007, 1:05 PM Normally, I'm legit to a fault. I guess where Microsoft is concerned I don't feel terribly guilty. In my opinion, Bill Gates has had a history of being (what's a nice way to say it?) not completely ethical, both in stealing technology from other computer developers and producing/marketing flawed products. But... the law is the law and Chris is right. I shouldn't have posted this publically. Atlanta Aquarium 11-20-2007, 3:44 PM Will office 2000 works for you? I have a legal copy of it. I have no need for it. PM me if you are interested. Big D 11-20-2007, 9:24 PM Sorry Linda... Another legal alternative is Open Office (http://www.openoffice.org/)... it even recognizes all of MS file types and does most things that Office does. I think their equivelant to PowerPoin t is Impress. I also believe you can save the docs with Office file extensions so that Office will open them. David BeesBaby 11-20-2007, 10:11 PM What operating system are you running? If Windows - is it Vista? If this is the case, then you will have to get the MS Office 2007 - Vista version - the Office 2003 will not work on the Vista operating system. KRB 11-20-2007, 10:17 PM Linda I use Open Office and it is great. It is also FREE. It is completely MS Office compatible. Did I mention it is FREE. Definitely worth checking out. David tebriel 12-03-2007, 1:23 AM I third the opinion that Open Office is great and FREE :-) I love it! |
