I just bought me a dwarf lionfish is it best to leave the lights off during acclimation?

Off for a cycle is the book answer. I just check to see how the fish is behaving. If it seems under stress then i turn the lights off. If it seems fine then I leave them on.

That depends on you. What are you going to feed them? Note the more you feed them the bigger they get. In general you can feed as little as once per week to several times a day. I'd lean towards as little as possible.

I am going to feed him live food at first then i will move on flakes or frozen foods

To save money for lionfish food would it be best to breed my own guppies for him to eat?

i would spend more time trying to get him on frozen then trying to raise guppies.im still in the process of doing the same to mine.good luck
