Every few months or so, I venture into this store. The saltwater section is looking better every time; better, cleaner displays, and more of them.

However, the one thing that they never change is their crappy service..or lack of service. How difficut would a salutation be?

The place is pretty laid back.

Best to aproach it with a casual attitude.

I beleive they recently picked up the shallow coral acrylics from UNder the Wave going out of biz.

I have run into a few decent folks there, but it is inconsistent.

I've found that the BEST way to get prompt service in a LFS is to walk in carrying a few plastic bags and a net. (If no one offers to assist, I have to assume it's "self-service.")

I have been to the aviarium a few times and I have to say that most times I have been well treated, however it is inconsistent......the store has looked better and better every time.......as for the seahorses, last time I went some did look a little down but they had a lot of them and most were doing well.....

as for the fish they all looked well and the new frag tanks look great......

hopefully the service does improve a bit because overall the store has good prices and is looking better and better.....

The Avarium at the Gwinnett Place Mall in Duluth has really done a good job completly upgrading it's saltwater & reef tank section. Clean. The service is always outstanding.

I guess if you are looking for a door opener "Hi y'all", this is not the place. However, if you need help with anything, whether you need it ordered, check for something "in the back", questions, loading, whatever.....they will be by your side for whatever length of time it takes. This is much more important than a "It's my job, so I have to say "welcome!". See Tommy.

I am a loyal customer for 15 years, & I see them treat everybody else as they treat me!

it's been 50/50 for me. I have always had someone ask me if I needed any help or what not but I have had a few fish die almost immediately from there. Overall, I like the place but be sure not to get livestock when they first get there

They shouldn't say "welcome" because they have to, they should say it out of common cortousey.

But, it's good to hear that they do help some people.

I agree with what you are saying, but I can't help thinking about the flight attendants (& many, many businesses) that are looking down at their shoes, saying, "thank you!", and you know they are not saying that genuinely! My point was that, yes, they should greet you with a warm & genuine hello, however, I'd rather get the awesome one on one care than, "hi!". It is much more important to me that they would spend 45 minutes with me! They care about their customers. I also agree that I would never buy any fish from anyplace that just recieved a shipment that day! IMHO.

I have always gotton awesome service at the Avarium! Also, they did an awesome job of upgrading their saltwater area! They now have a ton of corals, fish, clams, seahares, snails, shrimp, etc. I was very impressed!
