thinking about making a giant denitrator out of six pieces of 8" PVC and elbows in a zig-zag pattern, using sand and dark water, anyone got any ideas. I'm pretty new at this

Most tanks dont need denitrators. Thier are better ways of handling nitrates than a Denitrators. Macro algea refugumes, Removing the source of nitrates(bio balls) "oversized" skimmer ...

Why do you want one?

You can use some salt buckets and fill them up 3/4 full with sand and run around 100gph throught them. Alot easier then constructing multiple 8" pvc zig zag contraption.Just use some uniseals or bulkheads and run them in/out of the buckets,and cover them with the lids.You can run as many as you feel you need in series.

Trying to get my setup as close to the ocean'snatural eviroment as I possibly can as i possibly can, may not use denitrator, just exploring possibilities, my whole setup will be roughly 1,000g, just exploring every angle.

not to hijack this or anything but what is this. is it what its name says.
