Wanting to know when I might be able to start adding some coral to my tank and which corals would be good to start with. I currently have 2 T5 and 2 actinic with 8 blue LED....is this enough light?

Frantz 01-18-2012, 6:03 AM Depending on the answer to the above question most softies and LPS are hardier than their SPS cousins. My only real suggestion is to window shop online, pick out a few you like and discover are beginner corals (once you have species names feel free to ask here) then call some LFSs in your area and ask if they have in stock. DO NOT go to your LFS and just buy whatever you like on the cheap racks. You'll find you run out of room for the "nicer" stuff. Of course if you know whats on the cheap racks and really like it then by all means save some money and pick it up! Also keep your eyes in the for sale on the forum. I have got all my best coral from fellow members and much discounted prices. a69mac 01-18-2012, 8:08 AM I'm only a few weeks out of the end of my cycle so I know I may not be there quite yet. Currently have a 75 gallon. Edit: I'm only a few weeks out of the end of my cycle so I know I may not be there quite yet. Currently have a 75 gallon. |
