A few pics of some of my favorite reef denizens. More pics to come! Big props to Alex for taking some amazing shots. Tank wide shot needs some updating, but you get the general layout at least!

Are you still going to change out your sand after getting all these compliments on it? As much as I want that black sand if/when you change it, I think it looks great in your tank, and goes great with your aquascaping

I'm still planning on changing it because the radiant wrasse wouldn't sleep in it for some reason... and I absolutely love that wrasse. I filled the lil cave in the middle with white sand and he dove right in. Unfortunately, he went carpet surfing when I was cleaning the tank and I couldn't reach him in time. Poor lil guy went behind the tank and then kinda flip flopped under a small gap in the stand. So my immediate need to change out the sand has dissipated but I'm sure I'll get another of these gorgeous fish in the near future when one of the local LFS gets one in.

Anyways in response to other questions:
The lighting in the tank is overdriven T5, so its a mixture of various bulbs... 1 6k, 2 12k, 2 14k. I think that averages out to 11k? :) I don't use pure actinic bulbs...

We didn't turn off the pumps for the shot... the pics are so clear I guess because the tank is acrylic, fairly clean, and mostly because the photographer is quite good :).

Thanks again for your kind words guys.

I agree, the black sand bed looks great! Good pics!

I think what's really cool about the black sand bed is that it really contrasts the color of the corals....kind of weird about the wrasse not sleeping in it.....but yeah that would make me go back to white too.....still, I have totally changed my opinion about balck sand.....

Thanks guys. These pics are outdated. Alex come take some new shots! The tank has progressed a lot more in terms of corals since then.

The second wrasse is a male exquisite wrasse from fiji.
