So after watching LilRobb's Harlequins, I couldn't resist getting a pair. I'm not gonna post pics since my iPhone cam sucks, but I'll post a YouTube vid once I feed them.

It was magnificent!

I have a star in my sump and I'm gonna feed them a leg every few days.

It's much cooler to give them the whole starfish. They will keep it alive as long as possible. Chocolate chips are probibly theire least favorite.
Also they do much better in pairs.
I've had about a half dozen in 25 years. One pair I had the male got caught in a filter and the female quit eating and starved herself to death. I had them 2 years.

The LFS I got them from gave me a free CC that was a little beat up.

Is there a type of starfish you would recommend?

Where did you get them, ive been looking for a while and havent had much luck?

I love mine! Favorite creatures in my tank. Will eat starfish right from my hand.

better watch out seth you know a hand resembles a star fish in a way, you're gonna draw back a nub one of these days!!

I cut an arm off of the CC is got. I didn't like doing it, and hope I can find a place that carries small sized SF.

Very cool.. I saw some earlier at Nemo's on 78, and had wondered what they were.

If you cut an arm of the star fish, there is also a chance that it would die and foul the water. So, keep an eye on the starfish from time to time.

Definitely. I was able to get three little CCs, so I'm gonna ditch the cutting and just by smaller ones.

How often do you feed them? My understanding is that they only need to be feed like once a month...

I miss mine. Always walking around, double-fisting Asterina starfish like a champ. I need to get a pair, those stupid stars are coming back...

I plan on feeding them once a week. I get small CC for $5, and will be pulling the CC out after 3 days so it doesn't pollute my tank.

They are finally out and about in the tank. They hid for the first two days, but now walk around waving their front arms. I love these guys.

Mine don't come out unless they've exhausted their starfish and are looking for more but every time they do I just sit and watch them wiggle their little arms. I love them.
