I'm in the middle of putting together a FO system and wanted some opinions on equipment. I current have a 155 bowfront, Aqueon wet/dry, Reef Octopus NWB-200 skimmer and Aqua 40W UV. All this is going to be plumbed with an external BlueLine HD55 pump. AWI Typhoon III RO/DI rounds out what I have so far.
My question involves how to controll the system. I'm considering using a Reefkeeper Lite or an Apex controller and what I want to accomplish is:

1. Monitor the temp and control a heater with some type of reliable way
to avoid a heater malfunction of cooking my tank.

2. Monitor the salinity of the tank.

3. Control an ATO system.

4. Possibly utilize a timer on my UV rather than having it run 24/7 if
limiting the usage is appropriate.

5. Control the lighting although I'm not sure what type of LED unit I want
to buy but I'm considering an Acan system that has it's own built
in controller.

So I'm looking for suggestions for a controller, lighting and heater. I don't mind getting the right equipment but don't want to overspend for something that's going to do more than what I need.

I have a 240g FOWLR hooked up to a Rkl with no problems. This may be the solution for you but depending on how many outlets you need you may need to get an extension for the unit.

As far as lighting goes you dont need an LED for FO but if you want it for energy reasons I guess I inderstand.
