Do tetras have to school? Do you have to buy 3 or 4 of the same kind for them to be happy and thrive?
If you buy various species of tetra (let's say 1 of each of 4 different species), will they school together or not?

You can school different tetras together but I wouldn't leave one in another tank.

Get half a dozen at least. They are social fish and are not happy alone.
