Is Kroger/Walmart dispenser R.O water safe to use for a fowl or reef tank?

The problem is that you have no way to know when the filters were last changed, and therefore what the TDS is. I guess you could pop for a $10 TDS meter and check it before you buy much.

Yes, my local publix has a service tag saying when the last time the filters were changed out. So in short yes you can use the water, but eventually you are going to want to get yourself an RODI unit.

has anyone tested the R/O water from either Kroger or Publix after mixing it, but before putting it inyour tank? Phosphates?, Metals?
