i must say that i never though i would enjoy my tank as much as i do. i am interested in getting started with fragging and all the other fun stuff ya'll do. i would like to have some soft corals that are from other club members, which i think is much cooler than getting them from a pet store, not that there is anyhting wrong with a pet store. the meeting is tuesday, and i would like to know what or who has anyhting i can buy to get started. i do not have metal halide lighting, doesn't fit into the teacher budget, but i do have some atinics and about 300 watt lights and some real nice live rock. i've seen pictures of alcyoniidae or maybe acropora that seem like they would work. xenia is always cool as well. or maybe not even soft coral stuff, i'd like some caulerpa or plant like grassy stuff like dictyota or chaetomorpha, something i can control. i always look forward to advice and getting a story along with it.

Eric - go ahead and make sure you post this on TRT also to get all the traffic...Acros and other SPS are probably not a good bet, but there is a host of other stuff you could do..I would be cautious about calerpa in the main tank, though - it can get out of control fast.

Try softies, maybe some digitata, xenia....you could have an awesome tank with that!
