Did the IED do the damage to the tank or was it a mine? Looks like it shook the hell out of the tank.

I have seen Marines on amphibious units but this is the first time I have seen Army on one.:up: What ship are you on in the photo? Were you assigned, being transported or visiting?

I was in the Marine Corps from 91-95 and joined the National Guard in 99, going to Iraq in 05-06. We hit an IED consisting of two 155mm artillery rounds wired to two motorola radios. The vehicle is close to 25 tons and it lifted it over 3 feet in the air. I suffered a back injury, concussion, hearing loss, neck injury, and other soft tissue injuries.

The pic was on our way to Haiti for Operation Uphold Democracy in 1994, I was in a Reconnaissance platoon. I wish I was in that good of shape now!
