View Full Version : Fish FS
mlevant 02-09-2011, 9:58 AM Alright, as mentioned in a previous thread. I'm taking down my 220. The fish in the photos have been with me for about 9mths now. The newest is the clown sweetlip, he's been in there for about 3mths. They all were raised as babies and are healthy, eating well and beautiful. Hate to let them go. Please, please read up on required care before inquiring. Most require an establish tank with an experienced owner "patient individual". I took the best pic possible with my old Kodak. The price below is best offer except for the Idol and Emperor, I am open to trades. Please feel free to ask any questions on care.
Moorish Idol 6-7 inches= 75.00
Emperor Angel 4-5 inches= 75.00 "He's starting to lose juvenile colors"
Lion fish 8 inches= 60.00
Copperband Butterflyfish 4-5 inches = 40.00
Clown Sweetlips "Harlequin Sweetlips" 3 inches = 20.00
Engineer goby 8-9 inches= 15.00
Thanks,
Mike

tqpolo 02-09-2011, 11:22 AM Does the copperband eat frozen?
mlevant 02-09-2011, 11:47 AM Does the copperband eat frozen?
Yep, he eats Spirulina Brine Shrimp by San Fran Bay twice a day. So does the emperor and sweetlip. Sweetlip steals krill away from the lionfish when he can. Emperor also get what he can take from the Idol's food mixture I make up.
Thanks,
Mike

Thanks, he's in perfect condition. The pics really don't do him justice. I truly hate to get rid of him.

I wish I had a bigger tank. I would love to have him. I miss mine sooo bad.

A big tank IMO is a plus with these guys. When I first got him he was so small. Him and the cooperband was about the same size. He just took off in growth. I try not to look at him to long so I can make this easier.

Just replied to your pm regarding adding both Idols to a 150 but I don't think it went through. IMO adding two idols requires an aquarium much larger than yours and mine. Please let me know if you have any questions regarding the care of your new Idol. I will be more than happy to help.
Dibs goes to James on the Idol. I'll monitor him and pm you when I feel he's ready James.
Thanks,
Mike

After looking back at this post. This looks bad b/c the behind the scene PM's wasn't kept out in the open on this thread, lesson learned. I want to make the stress on the Idol as minimum as possible to ensure success in his new home. With that said, Iceman you were more than welcome to this fish if your current 150 setup didn't already have a Moorish Idol. The minimum tank requirement of one Idol is 100-125 gallons. It is also recommended that you only house one Idol. Multiple juveniles can be housed together in a very large setup but as they mature aggression takes place. This is a mature Idol. I didn't under price the fish b/c I need the money. I want to find them the best home, as soon as possible. Hopefully everyone understand.
Thanks,
Mike
jmaneyapanda 02-10-2011, 8:40 AM Agreed. Two idols together WILL result in death. Even in huge tanks.
LilRobb 02-10-2011, 8:43 AM Now that J said it, my word doesn't weigh much anymore.
Good call on that decision and thanks for the beautiful Copperband.
