I picked up a new pair of osc clowns that were sold to me as a mated pair that have laid 3 sets of eggs if not more so far. I can't prove this however I see no reason not to believe the person that sold it for me.

I have only had them for a couple of days now however I have figured out which one is the male and female just by how they act. The female is just a little bit larger than the male but the fins on the belly on the female are like so small they are almost not there while the males are very large. Not sure if this is another way to distinguish sex as I have never seen it before.

On to my question does it mean anything if I see the male doing the sideways wiggle? He will not let the female leave his side and she keeps nipping at his tail fins but not actually causing any harm. The male keeps attacking his reflection in the glass.

Doing the "shimmy" huh??? They are establishing their natural pecking order (establishing dominance). Feed a variety of foods and feed well and they will lay a healthy batch of eggs. Good luck!!!

Yep, the wiggler (should be the smaller/male) is basically showing submission to the dominant female.

Yah the smaller one is the one doing the wiggle looks like a seizure. I have been feeding elos 2 times a day and alternating with brine shrimp/cyclopeze
